Dos Zen Tattoos

zoinks!

So Friday I got 2 more hours of ink on my back. My crown should be completely done in about 1 more session, hurrah! I can't wait to have a finished tattoo. When it's done I should have around 8 hours in it. And now, I can't stop thinking of new tattoo ideas. I still want a plus symbol, some form of "live life," a giant word on my stomach, and I really want something on my chest that flows well. I don't really like the big winged things/hearts that people always get. I like things more like Tommy Lee's lions. Something mirrored that flows with my boobies. Those lions are awesome - I just wish I'd thought of them... stupid rock stars.

Anyway, I've been doing the wet healing process again, which is a big pain - but it …

Wet Healing a Tattoo

Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon on this one, but my second round of tattooing is healing a million times better than the first. I'm pretty sure this is completely due to a new healing process that I'm trying called Wet Healing.

Let me back track and talk about my first session, I was told to shower the night of the tattoo, then to keep it dry (no water), but moisturize with lotion 3 times daily until the scabs come off. At that point I could wash it, etc. It seemed simple enough, however the dark/heavy shading scabbed horribly. Everything else was fine. I got super thick scabs that cracked and ultimately resulted in me having to have the shading redone. I'm not sure if my skin just got too dry in between lotioning or maybe …

4 Years Old with a Bar and a Tattoo

As of last Friday, I've been at Pioneer for 4 years... and I'm still an entry level programmer! Haha, weak. However, I somehow carried over 9 days of PTO this year... which Brings me up to 18+9... 27 vacation days for the year + 1 floating holiday, yesssssss. Plus, only 1 more year until I am completely vested in Pioneer Pension.

Aside from that, I should note that I'm slowly making progress on the bar. Rico came over Saturday morning and we got the actual countertop all mounted. Time and Funds are killing me. I should be able to work on it again in August, haha, sad.

Later Saturday, Jeff and Iulia stopped over to grill. Then Elizabeth, Jon, Joe, and Andrea came over. And even later, Cedric, Nathan, Chuck, and Ando stopped …

Memorial Day and My First Tattoo

I am getting a little bit tired of blogging about weekend events. I'm not really good at writing about them anymore. It's so cookie cutter Friday this, Saturday that. Maybe I should quit and just post photos... or become a better writer, ehhh. At least this weekend I have something that I really want to document.

So, this Memorial Day wasn't quite as insane as the last 2 years, but it was definitely fun.

It started Friday when Doug kicked us out of work at 11:30am, which was sooo nice. I basically hung out for a bit and got the house ready for company. Then we met up with lots of peeps at the Iowa Cubs game for a sort of "going away party" celebration for Stacy. As always, it was lots o fun - despite getting beat 13-3.

Live Life

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow!! What a ride!"

I might be saying something more along the lines of, "Dude, that was awesome," but other than that, I think it's right on. I really really love this quote. This is how I try to be. It's been the basis of many tattoo ideas I've had... if I could ever step up to the plate and quit preserving my body.

Tattoos Schmatoos

Piercings are easy cause they are so not permanent... Although I have yet to take out any piercing I've gotten, hmm. That said, I want tattoos. I want them bad. I've seen a ton of cool tattoos lately. The dude that works on my car has black light tattoos on his arms, they rule. I've seen so many others too. Brass knuckles, skulls, mitch's arms, harper's ribbon, this one that I love, etc. I want one on my side like that last one soooo bad.

So anyway, I want to start but I dont know where, it's so stressful. I always hear - "get something you really want," "get something that means something," etc... I've been thinking for about 5 years and I've got 5 tattoos I want and mean something. I just dont know where to put them. They …
