Ankeny Summerfest
Man, this weekend was supposed to be so laid back, I was supposed to finish my shed, it was going to rule. But instead I really didn't to a whole lot. For some reason I got this urge to work derek.broox.com, which kept me up late every night. It's sort of lame because most of it isn't even visible for visitors, mostly just for ease of upkeep. I'm doing a lot of reorganizing, making the admin nicer, and writing some little scripts to tag EVERYTHING. My site's going to be so tagged - I mean SO tagged.
So, Friday we met Zach, Amy, Nehru, and Karissa at Ankeny Summerfest. Which probably would have been a lot of fun, but I didn't know anyone there, so there wasn't really people to look for or talk to.
Saturday, I had to go pick out tuxes for my wedding. The one I chose was pretty dope. It's totally different than most, I've got a long jacket, and this weird collar, it buttons all the way up - I think I'll sort of feel like Neo. ...crap, I need to learn kung fu fast. Then after that I pretty much just cleaned the garage, skated a bit, and then we met Nick and Nicole at the Buca Di Beppo kitchen table and ended the night at the cab.
Sunday I brought my pocket bike to church, for my cousin and friends to ride. That parking lot rules - so much to drive around. Then I decided to make a modular addition to my skate box. I made it so I could potentially make lots more of these. But basically it just raises my box up another 6 inches. It's much much nicer to skate. Zach and I skated it for a while, then we checked out the Ankeny Summerfest "Skate Off," which is this little skate comp. There were some good kids there; Zach and I are thinking of entering the inline contest next year. Check out some more pics.
Lastly Kari and I ended the weekend with some Ankeny fireworks. Maybe I'll work on my shed tonight... I probably have to work late though.
