Christmas 2005

Friday Kari and I drove to Marion to get Christmas started with her family. We hung out, met up with lindsey, had some beer and wine, etc.

Saturday (Christmas Eve) we shopped for a present for Kari's mom. It's tradition for the whole family to go out Christmas Eve and buy her gifts. Maybe I should start doing this for Kari since she can never wait... After shopping we had oyster stew dinner then we opened presents. It was a good time, I got some movies, clothes, a compound miter saw, etc. We got Kari's dad an iPod Video. It was a fun gift. He also got the Office Space gift set which included a special edition DVD, a mug, a red stapler, etc. Ron Livingston's family happens to be neighbors with Kari's family, so Vic and I took it down to have "Ronny" sign it. It was pretty funny to be in his living room. After dinner we watched Flight of the Navigator (one of my presents).

Christmas Day we woke up, and drove to Port Byron. While we were on our way my dad got called into work. Apparently something broke at the power plant that he had to make sure got fixed. Stupid power plants. Once he got home we had dinner with the Hites', opened presents with them, and then once they left we opened our family presents. I got lots of gift cards, a jacket, and my sister made me that sweet scrollbar scarf.

Monday the Terronez's came over, we ate leftovers, set a mole trap, went geo-caching, had dinner, opened presents, goofed around, chased dogs down that ran away, etc. It was a fun time. Later we stopped out to Nate Zeigler's house to meet up with him, Rich, Mitch, Sean, and friends.

And Tuesday we caught the mole, which was HUGE. The trap only stabbed his hand so dad threw him at the river, however he landed on ice. So then Dad, Chris, and I did the only logical thing - we threw rocks at it and shot at it. Then we drove home.

Christmas time is fun. Photos here

And now I'm sitting in the Marriott just off of Michigan Ave while Kari gets ready so we can go get sushi with Harper. New Years will rule again this year.

The garage, although reeking of cat piss, can be a pretty fun spot.
