The things other Americans say in foreign countries make me super embarrassed to be an American. Straight ignorance.

I just had a conversation with one of my friends about this who lives overseas! It's the ignorance combined with superiority that really tops it off.
I think everyone in America should take intercultural communications. It would help understand different cultures a lot.
Not all Americans are dipshits.
Hence the embarrassment caused by those who are.
Agreed. But as someone who travels abroad I know in super careful in how I represent.
Kelly that is somewhat ironic because India really does still look up to America and our policies. But I do agree, some people just carry themselves entirely the wrong way. But we are still a nationalist country with incredibly deep seeded racism as well that is slowly migrating out. We are a long way from things being balanced.
Aeon Grey I wouldn't say all of India looks up to us. There are plenty of people who are anti the west. Look at all the Maoist rebel attacks. We are class enemies to them in a big way.
Sure, there are always pockets, but that country is on a path of transition to a westernized culture that very much reflects american society. Mostly based on the influence of our economy.
