My 4th Grade Journal
So here are some entries from my 4th grade journal, all written in cursive - which I'm not even sure I know how to do anymore. The cover of the notebook is pink and yellow with the word "Journal" written with an eraser. That is then crossed out and the words "RAD" and "COOL" are written with sweet lightning bolt underlines - all by erasing the pink/yellow ink. Some of the stories are awesome, some are lame... but instead of typing just the good ones, I had to document them all.

My name is Derek Brooks. I am in 4th grade, and I am in Mrs. Bulls class. My phone number is 523-2213.
I am going to compare 2 T.V. Shows oct. 5, 1990
I will compare Tiny TOons and Looney Toons. Looney Toons and tiny Toons are the same becaus they have the same charators. They are difrent by size, another way they are diffrent by names.
Grandparents Oct. 15
When I go to grandma's house before bed we go to Whities for ice cream.
Sometimes clothes make you feel diffrent Oct, 23 1990
Once when I started Tae Kown Do I felt diffrent in my suit. I felt like I looked weird. I think I am getting use to it now. My mom said I look good. I look and feel fine now.
Rainy day thoghts Nov. 27, 1990
Rainy days may be good. Rainy days can be bad. Sometimes rainy days can be both, but realy, I love rainy days because I get to play with worms. I also like to ride my bike in the rain. What I hate is when the rain changes to hal.
3 Wishes 12/11/90
I wish for 1,000,000 dolars, rubies, and a pair of snow skies. I had to because in English it said there is a old folk tail and when you see a white horse you would make a wish.
RESOLUTION 1/3/91
I promise I will have 50-60 freinds over this year, and all the freinds I have over will have lots of fun. We will have sock fights, build and play with it, and spy tech.
Saturday's (1/5/90) snow 1/7/90
On Saturday I went sledding at Lynawit Park. When me and my freind Brandon went sledding on the same sled. When he got on I was hanging on to the back of the sled and went down the hill. I went down on the ice, and there was a little pile of snow in front of me. When I hit the pile my face was all white!
Plans for tonight 1/11/91
I will go sledding, dig tunnel, and play with the race track. I hope to have a sow ball fight too.
Getting Mad 1/15/91
When I get mad I throw stuff and shout.
The War 1/17/91
Sadam husen only has one jet because we blew his up. He stold 1 of ours. We are fighting because he stold the oil. We will win I hope. We have about 15 states against him and his army.
Dr. Martin Luther King 1/28/91
Dr. Martin Luther king wanted to be rembered as being a drum major for justice and peace. If I were giving a speech like this I would say I would make the world a better place by making people talk things out insead of having wars. I would also say there should be a more peaceful world and more freedom.
My friend Kenny 1/30/91
I like kenny, because we always spends time with me, and lives real close to me. We always play Nintindo or ATary. Sometimes we pick on his older sisters.

I would do all I could in a factory to help the family. I would also save a little too. I might save for school.

An interesting sience activity 3/7/91
What are some conuctors of electricity. I have to connect a piece of bell wire from the battery to the bulb socket. Whenever such a connection is made, abuot one centimeter of rubber must be cut from the end of the wire.
War is over! 3/11/91
I'm glad the war is over, and everyone is coming home. Hopefully almost everyone made it threw the war.
Snow this morning 3,14,91
The snow is good because, it packs good and it's fun to play in. A bad thing is I am going to Florida tomorow.
The best day of my vacation 4/2/91
The best day was the day I went on a realy wild roller coaster.
Today is different (and the same) from yesterday 4/2/91
We had a symphony, today we don't. I didn't have homework, today I do. I hear music both days. I rode the bus both days.
Music
Today is the day of 98.9 because I like rock and I always listen to Power 98.9. I like rap the best. M.C. Hammer, and Vanila Ice are my Favorite.

When I think of SRA testing. I feel like burning it. When I think of SRA testing. I think about my grade.

I think "earth day" is a day, that I think of our earth. I also think of plants.
My Sience fair project 4/26/91
I have not started, but I'm still trying to find my stuff for it.
Water 4/29/91
The cold icy water go's down the stream going over rocks. The water carries sticks and little rocks. I think it is deep.
Perfect pet
I have a pet and her name is dot she is a dalmation. She will get in my bed and push me out. She will race me in running outside. We also play with other dogs.
In the rain 5/17/91
In the rain I like to ride my bike, run around, play basketball.
Summer fun 5/16/91
I wish it were summer so I could go to my freinds house, play nintindo, listen to my radio, go swimming, ride my go cart, play baseball. Better than sitting in school. [drawn picture of a stick figure sitting at a desk reading a book and dreaming of baseball]
If my teacher couldn't talk 5/21/91
If my teacher couldn't talk, we would have to learn sign language, and look up at her every so often. We wouldn't hear our assignments.
America 5/22/91
Our citys are loud, and smell grose our houses are made of boards and somtimes bricks. We travel in cars with wheels and we fly in planes that's how I got here.
Summer Vacation 5/24/91
On summer vacation I can hunt, have target practive, play baseball, basketball, exercise, ride my go=cart, mow lawns, listen to my radio and tapes.
