Ugh, I fucking know all about that. I can't find one of a set of 6 steak knives and your post just reminded me. It is so aggravating, who steals a steak knife? Where could it go? So angry!!!!

We’re definitely missing a steak knife from our set. Been that way for a couple years. I may have taken it to work one time and misplaced it from there.
We lost one of the knives in our set and it's not available as a single purchase, so I bought another of the same size, but it doesn't match. And it drives Jon bananas. It bothers me, but less than staring at an empty slot in the knife block. Pretty sure the garbage ate it during a backyard BBQ. It will never stop bugging you.
