Canon Rules, FedEx Drools

Ok, so Canon fixed my cam for free, woot!. It was actually really a fast fix and they sent the cam back to me yesterday... So I checked the tracking status today and was quite surprised to find that my cam was supposed to be delivered today... just in time for my trip to Orlando tomorrow! I then checked it again at 11am and found this:
Sep 1, 2006 | 10:12 AM | Delivery exception | CLIVE, IA | Customer not available or business closed

So I called FedEx just like I normally do with UPS to let them know I want to pick my package up. They said that I cannot pick it up because the package wouldn't be back to the station until after they had closed. wtf. How come every other shipping company can get back and give me my package? Everytime I miss a UPS package, I can talk the nice people at the UPS station into getting me my package. So since the driver will be out all day, and I have the afternoon off, I asked if they could redeliver after noon. However apparently they cannot contact the driver at all. Finally I asked if there is anything I could do to get my camera today and they replied simply, "No, it will be redelivered tomorrow."

I hate fedex, they are ghetto. And now I have no camera for my weekend in Orlando.

    So I got home from work yesterday, called fedex again and spoke with some dude who ruled.



    I explained my situation, told him I was leaving town early the next morning, he called around and then told me that the truck would be in the clive station by 6:15 AM and they would hold it for me. I went to the station at 6:30, my cam was there, and all was well.



    This guy ruled... However, I hate it when companies have employees who just lie because it is easier.
