First Visit to Lake Madison
So this weekend we went to South Dakota to visit my second cousin in law, Jerry Cozad, haha (Jeff's cousin). I really had no information about the weekend except that we were going to some Lake near Sioux Falls. I had no idea what to expect, but I certainly didn't expect to be in cabins nicer than my house... which is exactly what we found. And these weren't full time houses for these people, they were just weekend cabins. Seriously ridiculous. And the owners weren't like 60 year old doctors - everyone I hung out with was in their late 30s or early 40s, acted my age, and basiaclly made some huge bank. I would really like to figure out a way to live that life. I guess I got 10-20 years to figure it out...
Anyway, it was a really nice weekend - really short given the 5 hour drive - but nice for sure.
Finding lakes and cool spots in states you never really think about really reminds me that I need to keep traveling. There's so much world to see. Next time I go to South Dakota I need to take a few more days, take 90 across the state to Wall Drug, head south to the Badlands, then back across to the black hills for Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Finally, on the way back we should make another stop at Lake Madison.
Yeah, I need to see more states. I think it'd be pretty dope to have visited all 50 states. I've been through nearly 40, but I've really only visited 26 of them. The next places I'd like to visit are Seattle, Hawaii, Philly, and NYC. I also really really need to cross an ocean... Someday.
Obviously I don't really feel like blogging. I have schfifty-five pics to tell the weekend's story.
Much thanks to everyone at Lake Madison for treating us so well.
