Hockey, Rollerskating, and Productivity
This weekend brought a lot of hockey back into my life. Friday, we met Nick and Nicole at Wells Fargo Arena to watch the Stars game. It was really nice to watch. I've only been to 1 hockey game since I moved here... I love it so much.
Saturday we got a lot of stuff done. Kari cleaned, I developed web sites like mad, figured some money stuff out, cleaned more homebrew bottles, and figured out that the turbo is definitely shot in my car.
Afterwards we got invited to this rollerskate party. Some Drake Law students rented out Skate West. Nathan knows one of them, got an invite, then he told me about it, so I invited people and we basically crashed the party. But, it ruled. Nathan told me to bring my hockey stick which made me super excited. When we got there they were just starting a hockey game, which consisted of a bunch of law kids in rollerskates who could barely skate... So Zach and I jumped in on opposite teams, haha. Zach played a bit in High School and I was on a league for 6 years. That said, it was sooo hard for us to hold back. The people there were hitting the puck like it was a golf ball, they were falling all over, it took them 5 minutes to turn around, etc. So I tried to stay defense most of the time to let them have fun. But every once in a while I just couldn't help it. I had to weave up and throw the puck into the top shelf.
After hockey, there was lots of rollerskating to 80s music, goofing around, watching nathan fall, limbo, playing in the tubes, etc. Zach and I even found a few things to grind, ha. Someone definitely needs to rent this out the next time they have a birthday. It ended up being $5 a person and you can bring your own food/drinks (even alcoholic beverages).
So needless to say, after this weekend I want to play hockey again... The only difference is, once I join a league I'm gonna look like those law students, haha. I'm so out of shape and rusty.
