I like my coffee black, just like my metal
Man, I love good shows. And I know the show is good when I have to take my shirt off for the drive home due to it being covered in sweat (or faygo).
So yeah, last night Kevi and I went to see Mindless Self Indulgence at Val Air. It's my second time seeing them live - and they are so good live. One thing that sucked was that there was a gate keeping the crowd from pushing all the way up to the stage... but whatever, we still pushed up to the 2nd row.
Anyway, first was Super 8-bit Brothers. Every song of theirs was about video games. They were a little weird, a little funny, but not that awesome. Then was SMB. Some girl told me to yell "sellouts" when they came on, because apparently they changed their band name to something much more PC. But whatever, they were really good, from Minnesota too... maybe I'll see them more. They're sort of funny because they're at the point where they are close to going big, but not quite... so everyone is acting like roxtars. The lead singer pulled it off well, the dummer just goes insane, the bass player was a little iffy, and the guitarist just... played guitar in his PJs.
Ok, so MSI ruled. Seriously, ruled. Jimmy Urine came out in a suit jacket and dickies skirt - of course. Then as always he gradually took things off. By the end of the show he was in his boxers and a tight pink shirt with a bunch of fishnet on underneath. I also forgot how hot that Lyn Z is. Well, I didn't forget at all really, but I remembered again that it doesn't suck to look at her. I mean, schoolgirl type outfit, huge boots, one arm sleeved with tattoos, black pigtails, rocks out on bass, and then hot too? wtf. So yeah, the show ruled, it was a pretty standard msi show - basic insanity. The security guards were weirded out a lot. haha.
Also, I keep seeing the same Des Moines people at the same places I go. I think I need to make more friends. I mean, I saw a lot of people at this show... big red haired dude that makes my sandwiches at Jimmy Johns was right next to me. Pierced-rainbow-dread-hair girl that I see hanging out downtown a lot was there (who is also pretty hot). Actually I saw about 5 people there that normally hang out around 4th St. I even saw Paul Moses there. But I didn't see Cullen, lame. (Dude, call me if you read this, I don't have your new number).
I wish I had a better small camera. Stupid Clie.
