St Lucia Day 7
We woke up early to get breakfast at Tuscanini's. I got the steak and eggs because steak and eggs sounded awesome for breakfast.
After breakfast we swam, played on the beach, and sailed a hobie cat out into the bay. Then we had to come back to the room to pack. Around this time I found out that steak and eggs in St Lucia were not that good. I got a bit sick, hung out in the bathroom for a bit, annhilated the toilet, etc. Never order medium-rare steak anywhere but the US. So yeah, we packed, then caught a shuttle out to the Pier at the Sandals Halcyon and had a great West Indian dinner - scallops, curried shark, and some chocolate banana stuff, mmm.
After dinner we came home, went to bed early, then woke up at 3am to checkout and get our shuttle to the airport.
So yeah, St Lucia ruled. The island is tiny (something like 48 miles by 27 miles) but is so insanely beautiful. Everyone there seems to take a lot of pride in it and are way laid back. A few common quotes from the island, "No pressure, no problem," "irie," "Beautiful players," etc. Not having internet or phone was lame, but probably good for my honeymoon. Atleast I found the business office to update my site. The streets/cars are pretty funny. It seemed like there were about 3 main roads on the island which are narrow, wind through the mountains, and have these insane ruts in the side for drainage. Most of the cars are Japanese - tons of lancers and tiny tiny cars that we don't have. Fast cars were few and far between, but I saw like 3 supras, an STI, and an Acura type R, haha. Soon I will be home. I'm sitting in O'hare. I need home bad. Today has been insanely long. I've been up since 1am central time, haha.
Go to St Lucia sometime.
