I let my home automation platform (NUC + Ubuntu + Home Assistant on Docker) slip on updates for a very long time. This morning, I decided to go scorched earth and rebuild it all with Proxmox and Home Assistant OS.

Over the past few days in Canada I’ve met some fantastic young folks with a glow that I’ve not seen in a long time. It gave me a hope for the future that my home in the United States does not.
