Memorial Day Minus Seven

Well, for the past 2 years Memorial Day weekend has been insane. Each consisted of a two-city party tour. Cornell and Chicago in 2005, Dubuque and Iowa City in 2006. But this year, I think it may have happened a week early with a trip to Iowa City and Cornell.

But before I get into that, let me back track a few days to Wednesday when Zach, Minnis, and I went to the Code Brown show. Gaiden sounded amazing and Luke sounded one of the best I've heard. Either Vaudeville is finally figuring out how to run sound, or he's just getting a lot better - maybe both. The headliners from Deep Thinka records were good as well. I'm pretty sure they freestyled 3/4 of their set.

Ok. Back to the weekend.

Friday, Kari and I busted out to Iowa City to visit Jeff and Iulia. We've always promised to visit them before they moved out of IC... And Iulia just got a new job in Des Moines so... we had to visit before they moved here. (double w00t)

Iowa City was nice. We checked out Formosa, which is this Sushi Bar/Asian Fondue place. It was quite interesting. We tried both their sushi and their asian fondue, which were very good. Then of course, we ran around the PED mall area, went to Dirty John's Grocery, took my clothes off in a giant cooler, etc. It was awesome.

Saturday was just as ridiculous with a 14 hour party. Elizabeth and Steph were in town, Stacy came, Ricky came, and even Cedric showed up haha. It was like a mini Cornell homecoming + Cedric. And as always, we partied like you do in a town where there's nothing to do.... We made our own fun. The Pal, baseball, whirly things, purse decorations, quarters, cup mouths, breaking glasses (both drinking and eye glasses), etc. Plus I got to sleep in Pfeiffer, haha - Right above Josh's old room.

So that said, I had 1, no... 2 blasts. I really like Kari's friends - which I think was made apparent when I straddled and made out with each of their faces before bed.
