so a tree in my back yard seems to have split from the storms we've been having. anyone have experience with this or know a good arborist?

how bad is the split? picture? just guessing, if it's a large tree and you lost at least 25%, it's probably a goner.
it's a 6 year old, 3 story tree (a form of Osier, I believe) I'm guessing 1/3 of it is split from about 5 feet up to the ground :(

That split seems more like a growth-spurt slit versus a split from the storm. Aussie Trees are very fast growers-prone to splitting.
I'd suggest calling Wright Outdoor Solutions ht.ly/5BKSV for their suggestion on what to do. Could prolly send them pics

thanks, duder. you're the second person to recommend wright. sent them an e-mail with pics a bit ago.
Right on. They've got Certified Arborists who are all Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) trained. Very well qualified for the job, the best. As with anything you purchase that is the best, you pay for it. You get what you pay for, and I'm a big fan of quality.
