I've only briefly looked into ring in the past, but heard it's super laggy and the new pro model has no battery backup so power outages are a PITA. I dunno. Probably still better than skybell and doorbird seems a bit overpriced

Is there a place to set up a Nest Cam with an outdoor housing? We love ours (indoors) it caught a dog walker not walking our puppy completely paid for itself.

does your home network have backup power? If so, if your doorbell transformer was on it too that would work.

yea I was actually thinking of making a little AA battery backup for the transformer. Are there any community members doing this?

None that I know of, but I'll dig around and see if any of our more enterprising users have done something like this!

This isn't a doorbell, but I recently got an Arlo camera. I'm pretty happy with it, and am going to get another for the back door.
