I read about all the potential BT problems and wanted troubleshoot free to start. Was just looking at other BT pads today though. Easy to configure?

Not hard to configure. There are times when my pi and controllers don't pair upon boot, but I have a friend with 0 problems. I may just need to do some firmware updates. You can still run them wired if BT fails.
