i know how you feel derek...had to have my cat put down this past may...i had her since i was in 5th grade!!! talk about giving up your oldest friend. :(

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Pets are part of our families and it's very hard to see them go. Take comfort in knowing that Ninja was safe in your arms for his last moments on Earth. Our dog, Ricky, had a heart attack and died at the vet before we could get there. Both Tim and I regret that we weren't there to comfort him when he needed us most. He had been there for us dozens of times and we couldn't return that love to him when he needed it.
