Tubing the Iowa River

Saturday, 10:15am. We cracked our first beers while waiting to depart for the river. We'd just set up camp and were in for a great day - and a great day it was.

So yeah, Nathan put together a little tubing trip down the Iowa River through a company called Rock-N-Row Adventures. It was originally mostly couples, then 2 couples backed out and 3 girls backed out. Which left us with another amazing sausage fest with a couple wives and a sister.

Everyone met at my house at 8:00am, then we drove up to the campground in Eldora to setup real quick and then head out to the river. We tubed for quite a while - it was hard to keep track of time, but I'm guessing somewhere between 3 and 6 hours, haha. And after the float we hung out at the campground, played croquet, grilled out, listened to a cover band, made lots of friends, etc. It really was amazing.

I think we prepared really well aside from the lack of water and other non-alcoholic beverages. Next time: bring more water!

There's a lot more to say really. I took 360 photos, but I think these 97 will tell the story much better than any blog will.

That was quite the amazing weekend. I don't remember all of the new friends but that's pretty normal. I brought water and Gatorade but clearly that was just enough to keep us drinking for another five hours. I think you and I were the only ones that didn't take a nap all day.

We had a great time at a place called Tubers Edge too! Haven't tried Eldora yet but I know this place was a great time for $20... It was by Marshalltown and it rocked, just fyi... Check out their site if you want to... tubersedge.com I think it was...
raccoonriverexcursions.com/ is another one to check out. 10-15 minutes from Des Moines in Booneville, IA. They have a bar and restaurant right at the campgrounds. I was just there checking it out the other day it's pretty pimp.
