Nanners, Cabaret, and Broomball
We scored our first point in broomball last night! haha. We're still 0 and 2, but we managed to score a point and defend one more than last time, bringing the final score to 1-13.
Most of our team has official broomball shoes now, which make a ridiculous difference. Basically broomball shoes are moon shoes with some super foam on the bottom that squishes/springs nicely when you run. Somehow this magically keeps you from slipping. The hard part is when you slide/dive for something, because then it's really tough to get back up. Basically your knees are still really slippery but your shoes get traction. So you end up pivoting on your shoe while your knee spins around you in a circle. It's stupid. However they're still awesome. Once the stragglers get their shoes, we'll be unstoppable. And by unstoppable, I mean that we'll probably score a couple more points.
Besides broomball (the new highlight to my weekend), the rest of the weekend was nice as well. Friday we hung out with the Coffins with dinner at Ohana and goofing around back at their place. Cole's quite ridiculous. He is for real the youngest person I know that understands cell phones. He was texting me with t9 and he's 7, wtf. He also beat me in gran turismo 4. Besides that though, we played some pool and football in the basement. I figure that if your basement is big enough to play football in, you should probably play football in it - even if it stresses everyone else out. It was a fun night.
Saturday, I got quite a bit done around the house and began building a bookcase for Kari. Then we went over to Katie's graduation party at Cabaret West Glen. Successful bar owners are in quite a good situation. I'd like to be in that position some day. And to be a bar owner's kid... having closed events (like college graduation parties) at an upscale club, etc... That is awesome. So it was a good time. We hung out for a bit, then went over to Rock Bottom with Nick/Nicole before calling it an early night.
And now I'm at work, slightly sore from shoveling 900 pounds of snow. Here are some pics from broomball.
