How did this work out for you? I was just looking at the Ikea Numerår countertop & mini frame combo.
i love it... still using it and standing almost full time.
i have my mac mini, external hard drives, modem, etc on that bottom shelf that i added. makes for a super clean desktop.

Hey, Did you buy or make that shelf for components? If you bought it, where did you get it? Thanks!

i just made it by cutting some leftover plywood i had laying around to fit the size of the frame.

Oh. Ok. How did you attach the shelf to the desk? It looks like it's attached w/ a specific kind of hardware. Thanks!

just screws, haha. i used a kreg jig jointer to hide the screws on the side pieces... but yea, just screws.

This is beautiful. What dimension Numerar did you get? I want to get the GeekDesk V2 frame. I don't know the dimensions of the platform arms on these frames. The Numerar tops come with ~26 inch depth. Is this what you used? I just want to make sure that the depth is more than the length of those arms so that it all gets under the desk top. How did you add that shelf?

Sorry for the q's.

that desk is the vika byske and is about 29.5" deep and 61" long. i think you should have plenty of room. i built that shelf out of some leftover oak plywood i had laying around and some screws.

Hey derek,

Thanks for the quick response. You used the small frame. Any regrets? The large and small frames have the same weight capacities, it's just a matter of the frame width. The main benefit I see is that the wider frame can accommodate a wider table top, which I don't necessarily need. 61 inch is plenty wide, and the frame would be about $25 cheaper. Any thoughts?
